New Year's Beauty Resolutions

2015 is nearly here and I've decided there are some serious changes I need to make to my beauty routine. So here we are, my 2015 new year's beauty resolutions...

1. Don't Wash Hair as Much

This is one that I'm going to find incredibly hard. I have quite hard to manage hair and I absolutely hate dry shampoo! As a result, even though I know it's extremely bad for my hair, I do wash it every day! My first resolution is to quite simply, not wash it as much, even if this means only every other day. My hair needs some serious tender love and care so wish me luck!

2. Less Heat!

Going along with the theme of hair improvement, I've decided to go on a serious heat detox! A previously mentioned, hair = very hard to manage, I've also just been gifted the most beautiful Baybliss wide barrel curling wand for Christmas so again, gonna be a tricky one. I have therefore decided that I will only use heat up to three times a week (including blow drying!) and will be far more punctual with heat protection use!

3. Stick to my Skincare Routine

As mentioned in previous posts, I change up my skincare a lot. Another thing I'm guilty is not sticking to good routine. There are days when I'll wake up and apply my makeup without any previous skincare and go to bed after taking off my makeup. I have the products - I need to use them! Cleanse, tone, moisturize, prime erry day.

4. Throw it out

I am what Jenna Marbles would refer to as a 'goo hoarder'. I will persistently not throw products out until they are at their very last drop.. I'm the type of person that will cut off the top of a moisturizer bottle to get to the product that I physically could not squeeze out of the lid. I will also keep products that I don't like or rarely ever use - just encase I one day need them. As a result of this I gather up a lot of empty bottles and unused products. In the new year I am going to go through all of my unused and basically empty products and chuck em'! A bit of beauty feng shui!

5. Refurbish my Makeup Storage

Right now my makeup is spread over two bags - (one for lip and eye products and one for face items) and a jar of bushes. I also have a slightly smaller travel makeup bag which has in whatever I last took on a trip and didn't put back in it's correct place. Within thee three bags and one jar, there are many products I don't use and many broken or empty products. There are also mascaras in the face bag, blushes in the eyes and lips bag and eyeliners in the brush pot. My goal is to buy nicer, more portable storage with seperate compartments so I can have all my blushes separate to my foundations and lipsticks etc. I will throw out the bad stuff, replace all that needs to be replaced, sort and organised!

What are your new year's beauty resolutions? Let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading.

  1. Less heat too

  2. I definitely need to wash my hair less too because I've been doing that wayyy to often lately! I also want to try and be better about using products in my collection that are often neglected!

  3. Hahaha Goo hoarder. Here's to letting go of those excess products we'll never even use.
