Dr Frank-N-Furter Inspired Makeup (Halloween makeup series)

Welcome to my second Halloween makeup tutorial! If you missed my Black Swan inspired look click here to check it out! I'm back with a second look from one of my all time favourite cult films - The Rocky Horror Picture show! I thought it would be a good look to do as Rocky's been very big this year what with Mac doing their own Rocky Horror inspired makeup collection (which I really regret not purchasing some of!) Dr Frank-N-Furter is the film's fun main character played by Tim Curry (AKA the master of playing dress up) This look, like my Black Swan look is a toned down version and just 'inspired by' not directly copied. However I think this one's pretty easy to connect!

So Here's how I did it..

The Base

For the base I applied Collection 2000 concealer and Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation in True Ivory. I then contoured my cheeks using the Sleek Contour Palette in Fair (Blush, Contour & Highlight!) To exagarate the contouring just a little more to correlate with Dr Frank-N-Furter's exsessive contouring, I went over the hollows of my cheeks with a taupe eye shadow (MUA Chino) and added a little extra highlight to the top of my cheekbones and my temples with Mac's Mineralize Skinfinish in Lightscapade.

 The Eyes

I first figured out where I wanted my eye shadow to cut off and stuck sellotape down to insure I achieved a clean cut off line. I then took Topshop's eye shadow in Porcelain (white) and used it to highlight my brow bone and the inner third on my eye. I then used the Front Cover eye shadow colour Sea Palace (a medium blue) as my base and covered the majority of my lid. Taking the Front Cover shade Denim Mood (a dark blue) I covered the outer third of my eye and took it within my crease.

For my eyebrows I used a combination of MUA shades Penny and Fade, and defined them with the Rimmel Proffesional Brow Pencil in Hazel. I made my brows a lot bolder and darker than I usually would, once again to match Tim Curry's character.

To finish the eye I took the thin end of Urban Decay's J3A brush and drew a line from mid brow (where the white liner ended)  down to my nose. I used the Maybeline Gel Liner to create a winged look and took it under my eye for the lower definition. It doesn't matter if you mess up at this point as Tim Curry's makeup is very haphazard and messy when it comes to the liner. For the last step I curled my lashes and coated them with Benefit's 'They're Real' Mascara.

The Lips

For my lips I used a deep red just like Frank-N-Furter! This one is by Elizabeth Arden (unfortunately I can't remember the exact shade)

The Final Result

And some arty kitchen shots..

I hope you enjoyed my tutorial! Now just put on your favourite Ann Summers lingerie and you're ready to go! Actually, you may want to tone down the outfit.. just a little.

Happy Halloween!
