Black Swan Inspired Makeup (Halloween makeup series)

I don't believe how ridiculously quick this year has gone, Halloween already, wow! I decided that I would create a little 'Halloween makeup series'. All these make-up looks are super easy to do and can easily substitute for lack of costume (I swear Halloween costume prices go up so much each year!) Here we go! For my first makeup look I've picked 'Black Swan'.

Now I'm sure you're probably thinking 'What is this Abi, this is nothing like the Black Swan makeup..' And well, yes, you may have a point. This look is simply inspired by the Black Swan makeup rather than a direct copy, but team with a ballerina bun and a black tulle skirt and I'm sure everyone will get the jist! The actual look is a lot more dramatic and intricately complicated so I thought I'd put together a more simple variation.

So how did I achieve this look?

Before I started the look I stuck sellotape to the outer corners of my eyes to create a clean crisp line in my eye shadow. This is a great technique if you've just started playing around with eye shadow or you're a little rushed for time! I started by taking a white eye shadow (Topshop - Porcelain) along the inner crease of my eyes and the brow bone. Moving on to the base I used a medium chrome colour (Urban Decay - Smog) and for the outer corners and crease colour I used a dark brown (Urban Decay - Busted) and then went over the edges with a Matte Black (Urban Decay - Blackout). I created a cat-eye wing with Bourgeois' Precision Liner and lined my waterline with Rimmel's Scandeleyes Kohl Liner. I took the Real Techniques detailer brush with the Dark brown and created a thin line from my crease down the edges of my nose. If you want to go all out you could team this eye shadow with a deep dark red lipstick and a pair of full volume lashes to finish the look!

Part 2 of 3 will be hopefully uploaded over the weekend!
