Liebster Award

So this morning I woke up to see that I had been tagged in my very first tag! (V. exciting stuff) I was nominated to be a part of the 'Liebster Award' which is a sort of introductory tag for bloggers with under 200 followers! I was tagged by the wonderful Amie at (who you have to check out!)

The idea of the tag is that the person previously tagged will ask you 11 questions to answer about yourself, in turn you then get the chance to ask 11 questions to 11 bloggers of your choosing, so here goes!

Amie's Questions

1. If you could have a dinner party and invite anybody, dead or alive, who would it be?

I would probably have to say Patrick Swayze, David Bowie, Karl Lagerfeld and Vivienne Westwood, imagine the conversations!

2. Do you have a foolproof beauty trick that you swear by, and what is it?

I always apply perfume to my hair as well as my neck and wrists, I feel that hair just keeps scent for so long, and every time you flick your luscious locks, a waft or giorgio armani or coco chanel will fill the air! I also always apply concealer with my finger. I dab it instead of rubbing it in. This makes the concealer last longer and appear to have a higher coverage!

3. Why do you blog?

Honestly I've just always loved writing. In school and college I adored researching and writing essays. My favourite was when I decided to look into the line between art and pornography for my Art A-level, I went so OTT it was supposed to be around six pages long and I ended up with twelve! I just get stuck into writing and researching. I feel like I have so much to say and need a platform to voice my opinion on. Of course I am in love with beauty and fashion and spend my a lot of time talking about them as well. That's why my blog's a bit of a mix between beauty, fashion and social & cultural issues.

4. Who is your favourite actor or actress and why?

Hugh Grant. Who doesn't love a good Hugh Grant movie?

5. What kind of music do you listen to the most?

I don't really have one particular genre of music that I listen to above others. I'm loving the new Ed Sheeran album. I adore a bit of Justin Timberlake. Of course I will always love David Bowie!

6. Do you have any special talents or skills?

I play guitar. Does that count?

7. What’s been your most embarrassing moment?

Maybe when I was 16 and me and my friend went to our first ever 'club night' (for under 18s obvs, so basically a disco). It was super hero themed so me and my friend went all out on the DIY Superman and Spiderman outfits. We bought coloured tights, pants to go over the top, appliqued logos onto our tops. Turns out when we got there everyone else was dressed it little to no clothing dressed as slutty lara croft or slutty catwoman (Under 18's disco, I know, but that shit was real). I remember distinctly there were some girls behind us in the que laughing and asking us if we were for real. but hunny we ROCKED those DIY superhero outfits! Actually probably thinking back to my teen years can I just say age 14-17 was my most embarrassing moment?

8. What’s been your proudest moment?

Probably getting into university! I spent an extra year to complete my A-levels due to changing my mind entirely on what I really wanted to do. So getting into uni was like a big sigh of relief, like it was all worth it!

9. Tell us something weird about yourself?

I'm super super bendy, especially my back. I can make my toes touch my head when I'm lying on my stomach (cobra position).

10. One thing you love about yourself?

I love this question! I'd find it hard to pinpoint one thing in particular but I generally have a lot of self-positivity. I like the way I look, I haven't always but I do now. I don't think it's egotistical or 'vain' I think that everybody should love themselves and all of their 'flaws'. I wrote a post called 'Ode to Broad Shoulders' which you can check out here. My shoulders always used to make me feel self-conscious in my teen years but I think it's important that you realize that it's your 'flaws' that make you unique, learn to love them as they are a part of you! I guess I could say one thing I love about myself is my positivity and enthusiasm, these things go a long way!

11. If you could be invisible for the day, what would you do?

Does it have to be legal..?

So there we have it, the Liebster tag. Now it's time for me to ask some questions of my own!

My Questions

1. What has been your favourite moment of 2014 so far?
2. Who is your role model?
3. If you from 5 years ago were to meet you now, what would they think?
4. What are your top three beauty products?
5. What made you start blogging?
6. What TV show are you loving at the moment?
7. What would you say is your statement look? (beauty & fashion)
8. Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
9. What is your dream job?
10. Three things you've bought recently that just weren't worth the money?
11. This is your spotlight to give your opinion on any current cultural/social/feminist topic, go!
